Re: 2/6d St George & Dragon Forgery - "Colour Trials"??!!

Hello, I`ve come across these three imperf. Dragon revenue stamps. can anyone tell me if they are genuine and which ones they might be? I think the 3d might be a reprint, it has thinner paper without watermark. The 5/- and 10/- examples have the double-lined 1 as watermark. All three stamps are mint...

Re: 2/6d St George & Dragon Forgery - "Colour Trials"??!!

Hi! I`ve made two further scans to show the details without my overlay! The right hand stamp has no tear, it seems to have a fold which was there before cancellation, maybe due to a thick content in the cover!? I`ve not yet checked the letter rate for registered sending at that time to NZ, but that`...

Re: 2/6d St George & Dragon Forgery - "Colour Trials"??!!

Hi! Any opinions on this one would be great!? Forgery, cover forgery or real postal usage!? I have the opinion it could be real, as I marked the postmark as I see it and it seems as if the postmark fits to the stamps and the cover! What makes me thinking is the rate of 5shillings and the quite late ...

Re: 2ND ALLOCATION BARRED NUMERALS

Hi! I`ll have a look at that! It`s just because I never really collected Tsamania consequent, just if something fell into my hands from lager collections, I stored it in a stockbook. So I don`t have many numeral postmarks. These are the ones I have: on chalons: 1,16,34,51,52,60,64,69,74,77,80,84 on ...

4d Chalon Question

Hi!

Has anyone else seen this nice looking "error" on a 4d imperf. Chalon? There seems to be "VAN DIFMENS LAND" instead "VAN DIEMENS LAND".

Nice to hear that! So it is a not so bad finding. About the watermark, yes it is crown over A inverted.

Re: 1d Pictorial with the VOLCANO variety

Hi!

I found this one which I first thought to be the vocano variety. Of course it looks like a retouch but does anyone know this one? Is it listed or known?
