Another recent "find"

TEEPOOKANA Type 1 cds on a 1d Pictorial dated 27 JA 02

This is interesting as the PO re-opened (after a 2+ years closure) on 1 FE 02

I don't recall seeing another example on a 1d Pictorial ..... does anyone have the cds on this stamp in their collection?

I have just listed this rubber cds for auction STAMP OFFICE HOBART dated 8-SEP. 1911 bb1838.jpg This type R1a datestamp is the same as the Type R1c listed in JH's book ..... apparently was is a typo ....there is no such thing as a Type R1c cds! Please note that the date on this "discovery" is over 2...

Thanks for posting this Jerry In my opinion, the perfin is a fake 1) due to the method the T perfin was produced, it would be highly unlikely for both "bars" of the T to be punctured at an angle 2) a 3 hole puncture as part of a T perfin has never been seen to the best of my knowledge ... the varyin...

A new late date for the LAUNCESTON Type 4 cds - 26SE56 - this is about 11 months later than the published LRD

If you have some FDCs cancelled at Launceston, it may be worthwhile to check out any Type 4 dates as some later dates may turn up!

TASMANIA · 1967 (Feb 7th): full clear strike of the GROVE Type 5sT(i) cds on piece · the general store and PO were destroyed
a few hours later in the "Black Tuesday Bushfires" · not only a new LRD but the ultimate LRD!

New EARLY DATE for PAID AT NEW NORFOLK Type 5R - 12.OC.53 ...... beats the published ERD by about 18 months

Note a 'quad' has been used as second number in year for reasons unknown. This example was from John Avery's collection
so it's surprising that the dateline variation hasn't been recorded previously

New latest recorded date for the PARCEL POST · GENERAL POST OFFICE HOBART Type R5(iii) rubber datestamp by just over a year! Previous LRD was 16 Nov 1951 · new LRD is 25 Nov 1952 fy1004.jpg also, a new ERD for the DEAD LETTER OFFICE Type 4a cds - previous ERD was 31 Aug 1936 - new ERD is 16 Oct 1934...

New early date for the BASE P.O. 6 MD 016 Type M4(ii) cds which is rated 5R

Previous ERD was 9 SE 1942 ....... now 23 JE 1942

Postcard size real photo card printed on Agfa stock - "Kraus Photo" handstamped on back - different to the previously listed items, this card does not have a printed "postcard back".

That's interesting ....... the photo was definitely taken on the front steps of the Rainbow Chalet

Can you post an image please ...... if the publisher of the Victorian card is on the card, that will be interesting information as well
