SG261 1d Pictorial Cr/A on Thin paper - perf T

I have been on the hunt for the SG261 1d Pictorial Cr/A on Thin paper - perf T. It exists with pattern 7x6 and 7x7, I believe.

If anyone has a version to sell, please contact me. Many thanks.

Re: Early dates for Perforated T and Perforated OS Pictorials

Just a small update to our EKU dates for T perfin patterns. If anyone has found some earlier dates in the meantime, please let me know them, as I can keep updating them here. They will be published sometime hopefully this year online when the final stage of our Official States Perfin project is fini...

Re: A potentially controversial 5x3 perfin on 1/2 tablet !

HI Ross, Thanks for the reply - yes, the standard methodology for producing these T perfins from the normal usage of the old line 12 machine does not fit well with this particular stamp, I do agree. I have seen other perfins which have a reasonably large hole displacement from being 'in line' with e...

A potentially controversial 5x3 perfin on 1/2 tablet !

Something potentially controversial.... I came across this wonkey looking donkey on a 1/2d tablet yesterday and had consigned it to the forgeries section since I don't think a 5x3 pattern has been seen yet (at least not in any publication I have seen) and the horizontal line is so out of whack , but...

Re: Stitch Watermarks and Waterlow & Sons paper

Hi Jeff, I just saw your post from 7 years ago, after I had added a new post of my own about the Crown Over A watermarked paper / papers that were used at the time. I have found one 3d Litho Cr/A in particular that seems very thin compared to the majority of the others (and it is not the 1912 versio...

3d Pictorial - Litho Crown Over A - 3 papers?

I am busy closely itemising a selection of 3d Pictorials for our States perfin project and came across a stamp which has me flummoxed. It is an SG246, Crown over A litho printing, but on seemingly completely different, whiter paper than its normal counterparts. This one, by touch, seems thinner in c...

Re: Early dates for Perforated T and Perforated OS Pictorials

I just found a reference to these dates on a stamp forum and these dates were taken from W.E. Tinsley, "Tasmania Stamps and Postal History" A book which I borrowed once a long time ago from Philas at the dawn of the project. I must have changed a couple of the dates already when I was sifting throug...

That's excellent news, John - many thanks. I suspected as much with the T perfins, but really good to know for sure. It is late now but I shall message you over the weekend via the contact link and we can hopefully touch base.
Cheers

Re: USE OF THE 1d THIN PAPER ISSUE (SG 261 and 261a)

Hello Roger, I somehow missed this thread before I posted about my own request on the board just now in the perfins section, but I am specifically on the hunt for any of these thin paper issues perforated OS or T. Do you have any of these amongst your mass of thin paper examples? This info will form...

Crown Over A "Thin paper" - SG 261, 261a and 262 "T" and "OS" perfins. Do they exist?

I would greatly appreciate anyone's help to learn if these late 1912 printings of the 1d and 3d pictorials on the Thin Crown Over A paper existed punctured OS and T respectively.... if so, scans would naturally be wonderful if you have them. Brusden White do not mention them as existing with OS punc...

Many thanks, it was an enjoyable task, Jerry - hope it will be of good use to people down the track. Looking forward to seeing any inputs from TPS members. Good to hear your thoughts, Jerry - many thanks. We think the first 2 scenarios are most likely as well, but would be very interested to read your article. OS perfins on Tablets / sidefaces - multiples needed

Re: New T pattern - 4x5 on 6d tablet

Good morning all,

I have been updating other sightings of this 4x5 T perfin, and someone else has seen it on a 1/- TAS Perf 14 too. Can anyone comment on whether they have seen this pattern on these tablets too, or is there a big question mark about their genuineness?

Many thanks for your help.

2d Pictorial V Over Crown P11 OS sideways

OS 2d V Cr OS p11 OS sideways.jpg Here is another I hadn't seen before, so again, all comments welcome. The OS patterns line up beautifully with multiple examples of the normal horizontal OS of the P12.4's, so no reason to doubt the OS puncture itself, I don't think. Does anyone else have this stam...

Anyway, hope this helps....I have an absolute stack of T perfins from a research project so if you have anything else missing, please let me know. Cheers.....

many thanks, Ross - that is a striking offset. Certainly does look like the pictorial's back has something very similar to this, so probably case closed from that side.
