Pied Piper Postcards

I have recently acquired on EBay four Tasmanian postcards, all with an image of a 'Pied Piper' in the header block. I am posting an image of the header block below. The four images are: Cataract Gorge in Flood Feeding pigeons, Cliff Grounds Moonlight Carnival on the Tamar (partial tinting in blue) L...

Re: Hobart boxed AR marking 1896

Yesterday morning I found that a shelf in one of my bookshelves had collapsed, strewing stuff all over my study. In the ensuing tidy-up and repair I found that Neil Russell had also written an article for the Courier Issue 34, which illustrates the cover that he has.

Re: Hobart boxed AR marking 1896

I have another example of this marking on a GV cover, but I would say the colour is Blue rather than Purple. I think Neil Russell also has an example. If my memory serves me correctly, we published a short item in the BSAP Bulletin on the subject, but a quick search of the Cumulative Index does not ...

I have consulted my listing and can claim to have two cards, #8, Queenstown, Gormanston Road and #16, Mt Lyell with Road to Queenstown. As ever, I cannot readily lay my hands on them for which I apologise.

Re: WHICH SHIP IS IT?

Here is another ship that I would like identifying please. The postcard was acquired recently on EBay, and on the back it is inscribed "Uglibah (?) at Simpson's Bay, Bruny". The name is difficult to read. Assistance please!

Re: POSTCARDS PUBLISHED by T.E. BARKER, FURRIER, HOBART

After checking my listings, I can record used examples of the following:

Cape Raoul
Cascade (Brewery)
Silver Falls.

When (if?) I get round to reorganising my collection by publisher/category I will be able to answer questions about what the backs look like! Sorry.

Not strictly postcards, but interesting none the less. I thought I would post the attached as I think it gives a rather rosy idea of aboriginal life in Tassie!

Reverting to Ross's enquiry about the cards with a perforated separation, I can offer a further example from the same series, showing the "View from the Second Lookout, Mt Wellington, over Hobart". Still no clue about the publisher!

Please can a local expert identify the ship on the card shown below? Is it the 'Oonah'? I have been a little busy just lately, but had managed to find a card with the same style of handwritten inscription that has an embossed inscription 'Ernest Winter, Tasma Studios, Burnie' in the bottom left hand corner. I have also just bought (on EBay) a different view of West Beac...
