Sometimes hard to get a full clear strike this Central Castra Type 1 (Hdg 12# RR+) is a happy recent addition to the collection.

Hobart duplex on 6d ebay Nov 2020.jpg The stamp shown in the attached image was seen on ebay recently. It appears to be the Hobart Duplex Type 1 (vi)(circle stops) code O, however it is missing both the date and the circle stops but leaves a full outer rim impression of the cds. Latest known date f...

Re: POST 1912 DATESTAMP INQUIRIES - ASK QUESTIONS HERE !!

I have attached a scan of the Type 4 Gormanston cds that is known 20.12.1922 - 20.12.1968. Don't ask me why the first and last use dates were the 20th December. In the image shown the first numeral of the year is small. The Type 5 used at Gormanston is known 16.3.1949 - 31.3.1969. Could it be that a...

Just spotted recently but was unsuccessful in acquiring. While just the front cover of the envelope the Waddamanna Type 3 has the date of 30th August 1913 against the earliest known use date of 22nd September 1913. John Hardinge advises that this cds was ordered on 18th August 1913 so this new early...

Re: RECORD NEW EARLY & LATE POSTMARK DATES, etc. HERE

Should look at the collection a bit more often. This one has been sitting there very quietly minding its own business for some time. Recorded early use date for Stirling is 7.10.1900 with the post office opening on 1.10.1899. This 1d has a date of 2.10.1900 which only shaves 5 days off the EUD so th...

Hi Jerry, Yes the "T" perfs do exist. I have a small set of examples (85) with 51 12.5 x 12.5, and 34 the 11 x 11 perf. I only have two T perfs which I have attached. Give me your email address and I will send you the data breakdown on what I have. The Forth is T perf 7 x 6 and the one possibly used...

Slept in while this one went off but have it here for the records. Queenstown circle stops has an eud of 8.7.1897. This example dated 26.7.1897 does not take a lot of time off as far as euds go, but it is a couple of weeks.

While BN 47 for Oatlands in the First Allocation period is not rare this is an interesting item due to the preprinting paper fold and inverted watermark.

I try and concentrate on Tasmanian cds during the Pictorial period and you would think that all the variations would have been discovered over the past 100 years. However they are still to be found. While from a larger office this new code 7 (inverted) used with the Type 1(iv) "No Tasmania at Base" ...
