GLENORCHY 5-P 19 JE 87 ?? Type 8T
Hardinge lists several 8aT varieties, but the present example seems to be unlisted.
There is No 8T in the listing or the latest update.
Is this a true item or has the index code not come through in the postmarking process?

GLENORCHY Type R6 (ii), (iii) New early date ?
Previous ED is 5 Jan 1993. Present example is 17 Sep 1992.
I am certain this is Type R6 (ii), (iii) as it has the very short bar between TAS and the Postcode

Re: POST 1912 DATESTAMP INQUIRIES - ASK QUESTIONS HERE !!
Query early or late usage of PROSPECT 23 AUG 1991, or a new variety. I appreciate that all four listed examples are of variations on the R6 post marker, however these are in two pairs a) "P of Prospect almost touching frame" and b) Prospect aligned with frame. My example has the "T" of Prospect almo...

Re: POST 1912 DATESTAMP INQUIRIES - ASK QUESTIONS HERE !!
Help !! I have a HOBART / TAS-AUST postmark dated "4-P-5JA90" but no postcode as I would have expected in 1990. Perusing Avery and Hardinge the likely identification is either 5sT (dates given as 1961-1979) or R6b "Tas Aust" at base. but again dates do not fit (1968-1974. It does look like a rubber ...

Re: POST 1912 DATESTAMP INQUIRIES - ASK QUESTIONS HERE !!
ANTILL PONDS RLY STN 30NO37. This postmark has had the "30" manuscript cancelled, presumably to correct the missing "30" on the datestamp I was wondering whether this is a constant correction and whether anyone else has seen this variant. OR has it been hand corrected the once and a new slug put in...

Re: POST 1912 DATESTAMP INQUIRIES - ASK QUESTIONS HERE !!
Hardinge states that this postmarker used Violet ink for 1991.
This would appear to be late usage, but have others seen this year with Violet ink?

My major collecting interest has for a long while been Australian States, but I have lately been introduced to Tasmanian Postmark collecting. This is an ideal field for someone who is obsessive- compulsive, pedantic and prepared to sit for hours with a magnifier, scanning machine and access to lists...
