1D overprint on 3d Platy NEW FINDS
I have been doing some work on the 1D overprint on the 3d platypus. So far i have been able to find 5 singles and a pair plus the known sheet which is separated into two halves via the horizontal gutter. 5 of the 7 have REVENUE off centre and 2 [a pair] have REVENUE centre. Here is my first find a d...

Re: Stamp Duty Hand Stamps
What a great item and good to see it has survived.
Would be nice to know provenance as this really belongs in the Post Office or Treasury similar museum.
Amazing how all these got out into public hands as they would be Government property unless it was the Government who sold them off.

Re: JUST DISCOVERED - 1/3d on 1/8d on 1/3d surchd BEER DUTY
Super find Ross This is typical of Tasmania not being able to make its mind up; 1st its 1/3d then its 1/8d then its back to 1/3d :). Paying the 8 October 3d per gallon rate. This is the first to surface in both manuscript provisional and provisional using up old stock similar to the 5/6 on 12/- on 9...

War Savings & Certificate Stamps
Although not a Revenue and not confined to Tasmania i thought i would share my latest addition to my free on line catalogue of Australian Revenues by adding in the War Savings and Certificate stamps of Australia. As you would expect Tasmania was allotted the least amount of stamps and the hunt is on...

Re: Alleged 1s on 3d Platypus 1913?
It is my belief the early catalogues got mixed up re the emergency 1s on 3d and meant to say 3d Numeral not 3d Platypus. As per this stamp here: http://www.tps.org.au/bb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=85 I remember speaking to Ingle's on this very stamp and he agreed it was more probable the 3d numeral. The 1...

Re: Beer Duty Stamps update to July Courier 2009
The date shown in the listing is from my exhibit of Tasmania beer duty stamps 5/3/1880 this has to be changed to 4/3/1880 it may only be one day but this new date is now just 4 days after the issued date of 1/3/1880, lets hope somebody reading this will have an even earlier date. We are slowly cree...
