Re: WHEREIZIT? SEEK ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING A VIEW HERE!!!
Can anyone identify this view of a frozen central highland lake. Is it Little Pine Lagoon ?
Real photo by Spurling. I think it is posted in 1908, to Spain.

Re: POSTCARDS by J.C. RALPH, ULVERSTONE
Yes, They all appear to be Spurling "productions".
With regards to Welling. In the 1913 Tasmanian PO Directory, Miss F.M. Welling is listed as a bookseller, Main Street Zeehan. So it appears that E.M. Welling is wrong! ??

Re: A Postcard Exchange Club?
I have only seen 2 cards from this series. My 5 cards are all postally used in 1906.
Interestingly one of the cards has "Series F 1905 J.Walch & Sons, Wellington Bridge, Hobart" printed on the back of the card.
Have scanned an example used for political purposes.

Embossed in the lower right corner on the picture side is the name "E.Finch". It is rather hard to see in the scan. On the back of the card E.Finch has written a few details. I have been unable to find any information on this photographer. Can you help with any information? scan0643.jpg scan0644.jpg

Have found out who Fred was! Fredrick (Fred) Alfred Hooker was Stephen Hookers son. It would seen that Fred was using his fathers real photo postcards. The following information was found on the " AIF Project" website. https://www.aif.adfa.edu.au/showPerson?pid=142359 Frederick Alfred HOOKER Regimen...

Re Stephen Hooker I have a Waratah postcard dated 15/8/06 from the same correspondence as John C. No name markings on the front, but is signed "Fred Hooker Waratah Tas." The same person? Ross, thankyou for all the information regarding the funeral procession postcard.
Must of been a rather important person to have a funeral procession this size through the main streets of Hobart.

Re: WHEREIZIT? SEEK ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING A VIEW HERE!!!
Here is an enlargement.
Could it be the back view of a tin concentrating building? At least 3 levels, appears to have a sloping roof on other side (see left side). A feed race or walk way on level 3 right side?
Ideas??

Can anyone identify this small settlement? Someone has written Lottah on the back, but I don't think it is. See other scan.
Card is unused, no photographers name. It certainly could be in the North East. What is the large two storied building?

This is the Farrell Concentrating Mill (Tullah). This card is dated 1907. Could your picture be a later photograph of an updated and expanded mill? The bush behind the mill and the lay of the hill looks similar. I have another real photo card of another unknown mill. Where is this one? I am sure it ...
