Re: Platypus Reprint with dropped R
that's interesting Dave .... I hadn't heard of this overprint variation before.
Can you post a larger scan with the "stamp in question" sideways and in a lighter
shade of mauve? Can this reprint be 'dated'?
(don't ask for much do I?)

Re: Platypus Reprint with dropped R
I have an example of the dropped R on a 4d blue sideface (so have not included an image here under revenues). There is a stop after REPRINT which helps with dating a little.

I think the below reconstruction of a sheet palces the dropped R in a single cliche in the overprint form, [row 1 Stamp 5]
Does anybody have a full sheet and can confirm this?

Amazing what this discussion forum gets you to do. I have had a full sheet of 6d platypus reprints for some years now, but have never really looked it over. Lo and behold, there is the 'Dropped 'R'' in row 1, position 5, and it does not recur in any position. Thanks for the 'Heads up' Dave!
