A.a pattern for George Adams of Collins St Tasmania.
This represents the first and very important find of this pattern on a revenue.

Interesting .... can you provide a scan of the back as well please?
Do you know the provenance of this item? One would assume that a firm the size of Tattersalls would
have used a huge number of revenues so it is surprising that such an A perfin hasn't been seen before.

I could not believe my eyes when I saw the scan a couple of days ago.
It came from a revenue seller in the UK who trades on ebay and was not expensive. The pattern looks good and the reverse scan I have seen looks like it was affixed to some rather flimsy paper rather than an envelope.
The pattern was struck prior to being put on the document (or whatever ) so it was used as a true perfin and not a canceller .
There are no known forged A's , at least I have never seen or heard of any.
There are a hand full of 3d Platypus , I have one and DMc has 2 but I am sure there are more around. But these are all postally used. This may have been postally used but I do not think so.
It smells ok to me. I only wish that I had seen it first
