Basset Hull featured in the New Year Honours List as we learn from The Mercury of Wednesday, 1 January 1936.
This turned up on Trove.

"Members of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.):—

The report includes a number of persons and biographical sketches:

Arthur Francis Basset Hull, of Sydney.

"Mr. Basset Hull, of Manly, N.S.W.,
entered the civil service in Tasmania in
1880, and continued in the service there
until 1891, when he was admitted to thc
Bar. He joined the New South Wales
civil service in 1892, and retired in
1921."
