H.Q. TAS L of C AREA Registration Label - Abbreviation?

#1 Post by Ross Ewington » Wed Mar 13, 2013 12:37 pm

I have only seen two other examples of this provisional registration label that is believed to have
been used at Anglesea Barracks, Hobart during WWII.

Does anyone know exactly what 'L of C' stood for - 'Line of Command' ? 'Line of Communication'?

If you have another example of this label, especially if it's tied to a datestamp, please post in this topic.

I have this on a regd cover tied to the rubber S215 security canceller from Angelsea. L of C? Have to think about that. Could be land Officer Commanding Area.

A google search of on-line army documents and confirmation by experienced TPS members indicates L of C stands for Line of Command.
