I would be grateful if someone could display a couple of nice examples of the 1d. Red Pictorials electrotypes in the following shades:- Aniline Rose B.W. T14E or T15E and the elusive Orange Red B.W. T14G or T15G. Jeff.

Hi Jeff,
Just a thought... colours are going to vary quite a bit on different computer screens, and photos or scans can easily have colour casts, so you may not get an accurate idea of the shade. It might work best if a number of shades were shown together so at least you could get some idea of the differences between them. The only way to get an accurate colour is if the image is colour corrected by using a neutral gray card in the original and setting that in a software program like photoshop, and then getting your computer monitor calibrated to show accurate colour.

You may well be aware of the problem of getting accurate colours on computer screens but I thought it worth mentioning in case you weren't.

Cheers,
Peter Allan

Thank you for your response Peter. I was not aware of that problem. Jeff.

Jeff,

I have finally managed to get to scanning my copies of the shades you are seeking. Both items are from the JRW Purves collection where they were described as such. Given the vagaries of scanners and colour variation I hope they are of some assistance. The aniline nature of the first block does not show up well in a scan.

Thank you for the two scans. I have been away, hence my tardy response.

Jeff.
