Relief Datestamp used at Bronte Park in 1948 ??

#1 Post by Ross Ewington » Sun May 29, 2011 12:20 pm

I have just started the compilation of a listing for Bronte Park in the recently commenced "Index of Tasmanian Post Offices and Postal Markings"

Link: http://tps.org.au/members_only/itpp/ind ... Datestamps (you have to be a TPS member to access this site but if not, an image of the listing provided below)

If my memory serves me correctly, when the post office opened in July 1948, the first datestamp used was a 'relief' type.

Is this correct? Does anyone have an image, preferably 'tied' on a registered cover or similar? Early and latest dates seen?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I am also in need of images of nice strikes of the three datestamps used at the PO - Type 5(i), Type 5(ii) and Type 5(ii)(s) - on cover or piece @ 200 to 300dpi will be great!
