Query about Couriers of 1853

Folks

Here is a question about Couriers that has occurred to me a while ago.

Has anyone ever recorded these primitives with papermaker's watermark?
While there was no policy on watermarked paper as yet (that would occur
in 1855 with the Chalons, which first appeared on Large Star paper), we can
conceive of the possibility that some sheets of paper supplied for printing these
stamps had a papermaker's watermark.

Maybe this question is sheer speculation. However, such things are known for
the Sydney Views but they are apparently rare, according to the Robson Lowe
Encyclopedia, Volume, 4. Perhaps someone out there can shed more light on
this query.

Given that the Star watermark paper did not arrive for two years after the Couriers were printed - I think this is almost certain - any watermark would have to have been from sources other than Perkins Bacon.
I am fairly sure no watermarks have been recorded, but happy to be proved wrong.
