4d Chalon Question

#1 Post by josto » Tue Mar 30, 2010 10:42 pm

Hi!

Has anyone else seen this nice looking "error" on a 4d imperf. Chalon? There seems to be "VAN DIFMENS LAND" instead "VAN DIEMENS LAND".

Could you please provide a 1200dpi scan of just a little part of the stamp with the "error" so we can have a closer look?

Thanks, Ross

Was the 4d chalon ever printed on number 6 watermarked paper by mistake?

A quick scan through the considerable literature available says "no".

I am curious though as to the reason for your question....especially if you have an image of what may be a 4d Chalon on watermarked
'6' paper. More information please!! :)

Hello.
Looking at this topic today,
I remind something similar on a strip of four where 3 of the stamps have a part 'inked" at the same place.
3 left stamps have part of N missing
3 left stamps have part of N missing

It's quite strange to see same varietiesat the same place

Is someone have seen the same default on a 4d chalon heads.
Has someone answer about this printing problem?
Thanks for help
