KEMPTON TYPE 1a CDS WITH "SEP" IN DATELINES

This is the latest use that I have seen of the Type 1a KEMPTON cds with SEP instead
of SE in the datelines.

Has anyone seen this dateline variation later than this (up until September 1926)??

I have a copy in 1920. I can't remember if I have seen it later or not, sorry.

Thanks John ....... is there an early date for the SEP dateline variation?

...and a supplementary question .... if we assume that the SEP "slug" came from the previous
Type 1 GREEN PONDS cds, was there ever a period when the Type 1a cds appeared with just SE
for September or is it possible that the SE "slug" was not issued with the datestamp??

Hard to know where it came from. I had always assumed that the dates for the Type 1/1a/1b CDS were a certain set of numbers and letters with the numbers just being variations of 1 to 9. Turns out that this is not the case and the numbers held were a set from 1 to 31. Of course these seem to have been routinely lost so often "type" were missing at offices. Year "type" seemed to come from the GPO towards the start of each year and were probably manufactured there by PMG stores. Towards the end of their use in the 1940's some CDS start to appear without year. Probably the GPO ceased manufacturing new type since these CDS were systematically phased out from 1932, last use being in 1944 at Woodsdale.
