MISCELLANEOUS ADVERTISING CARDS

#1 Post by Ross Ewington » Sat Feb 09, 2019 3:40 pm

Many advertising cards were one-off in nature or 'just one of a couple' so I thought it would be good to have
a 'miscellaneous cards' topic.

There are well-established topics for cards printed by F.W. Niven and for hotel advetising so if you have any examples of these please
post in the appropriate topic.

To start the ball rolling, here is a card advertising 'Miner's Blueys' manufactured by JOHNSTONE BROTHERS & CO. at their DERWENT WOOLEN MILLS, HOBART

I have not seen another example

Although J. Walch & Sons Ltd printed cards for quite a few local businesses in Hobart, there doesn't appear to be a large range of cards advertising themselves

This card is from c.1910 and is overprinted on the back for use as an advice card
