SCARCER CARDS PROMOTING TASMANIAN TOURISM

#1 Post by Ross Ewington » Tue Feb 02, 2010 4:02 pm

A considerable number of postcard promoting Tasmania as a "tourist destination" have been produced privately
and in a semi-official capacity over the years (and are still being published today).

Several series such as the Mt Lyell Railway colour series and Mount Lyell Tourist Association b&w issue (c.1920) are well
known and recorded elsewhere. There are are other cards however, that are not that easy to find so I have started this post
"for the recording thereof".

My first offering:
Card was postally used in 1911 at Launceston - no additional information about the card is printed on the message side.
