manuscript postmark identification

I need your assistance to identify this postmark.

I thought first about 64 but not sure anymore.

It is certainly 54 and matches the handwriting on a 4d courier I have seen. Image shown is one that has recently been on eBay

Just a question: is it possible to find Manuscript Postmarks of Hobart?
I mean, is there sometimes no obliterators available and then the officer of the Post office made such a postmark?

I don't believe Hobart ever had a manuscript cancel. I think you have the first allocation check list by Askeland from Courier ( I think no 28 but not quite sure). You will see a list of manuscript cancels along with the rarity rating for each barred numeral there. Hobart used a number of barred numerals 68, 69, 48 74 75. When the second allocation came in, 1861 Hobart then did not use a numeral to cancel stamps but initially used a 14-bar dumb cancel and a number of circular date stamps for arrival and transit markings. Later various duplex cancelors to cancel stamps.

Peter is correct. I have never seen a manuscript cancellation related to Hobart. With several obliterators on hand I doubt if there ever was a situation where they were all out of action. I have seen mss '52' of Launceston in the Second allocate period but nothing for Hobart.
