Hobart Pillar Receiver Type 1(x) cds

I would just like to put out for comment an image of the above cds without the "R" in "P.R." at the base of the cds.

The absence of "P.R." is noted as omitted in Hardinges Compendium for this but not a partial omission. Date of that know omission was 2.1.1900.

As the strike is clear and complete in other aspects I am just wondering if it is a new variation or just a poor strike. I am hoping that with the clarity and strength of the cds impression that it is a new variant.

John, it probably is something new. It seems bizarre enough that this exists with no PR, but it does.
