Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
"YHStamps2020" of London, UK has listed more forgeries on eBay. This is the first time I have seen forged Couriers and perforated Chalon forgeries from this seller. The Courier forgeries appear very similar to the NSW forgery gang's material, and the Chalon forgeries appear very similar to the forge...

Agents-General for Tasmania
I purchased a cover that I think is from the Agents-General for Tasmania's office in London. It would be an early cover (dated 1887) for this office. It certainly appears Tasmanian, and it was mailed in London to London. Looking for others' thoughts and if anyone has other postal history from this T...

Forgery gang member "classic-stamps" has listed on eBay another 1d Courier forgery. This time the forger has listed their location as NSW, Australia, rather than the last time they listed their duds as QLD, Australia.

More forgeries from the Australian forgery gang. A relisted CA monogram forgery on a 2.5d recess-printed pictorial on eBay by "collectablestamps_9" of NSW, Australia. A 1d Chalon that was fiscally used and with a forged South Australian barred numeral 37 cancel is listed on eBay by seller "hedgepig2000" of Cambridge, UK. You can see the fiscal pen marks below the forged cancel. The forged cancel is similar a genuine SA barred numeral 37 but there are a few items ...

A member of the Australian forgery gang --"moonman143" of NSW, Australia -- has relisted on eBay the 6d purple Chalon block of 4 REPRINT forgeries. (See TPS BB post of 5 September 2024 for scan.) Remember both the stamps and overprint are forged. Be careful buying anything from this seller!

Re: FORGED OFFICIAL PERFINS BEING OFFERED FOR SALE on eBAY etc.
More forged OS punctures on eBay from a member of the forgery gang. "collectablestamps_9" of NSW, Australia has previously listed unused forged OS material, and these all appear different from the earlier material. Such a shame that good collectable stamps are being ruined by these forgers. OS forge...

An eBay seller -- "j.j.raison" of Kingscliff, NSW, Australia -- has relisted some of the REPRINT forgeries in blocks of four. He has relisted the 2d, 6d gray, and 1/ pink Chalons. "moonman143" of NSW, Australia has re-listed on eBay two forgeries--a 4d Courier and 2d Chalon--both products of the Australian forgery gang. The last time we saw these particular duds was on 24 August 2024. I'm happy that collectors are not buying this trash. Continue to be vigilant. forgeries 2.jpg

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
A new type of fake cancel on a 1d Chalon (probably fiscally used but I'm hard pressed to find any obvious pen marks, might be one through queen's eye in line with the black ink marks but not positive). The item is scanned here to show the fake cancel. The eBay seller is "Royal Coin and Stamp" of Ama...

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
There is a new type of 1£ Keyplate forgery listed on eBay from seller "tobaktec" of Boutencourt, France. The seller does describe it and everything he sells (from his website) as reproductions, but these items could end up eventually being offered as genuine. Good to know what they look like now. 1£...

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
Below is a 1/ Chalon that was fiscally used, cleaned, and a fake cancel applied. I can just see portions of the remaining pen marks. However, the fake cancel is a dead giveaway. I have posted this to specifically show another type of fake cancel. The seller is Albion Stamps of Dallas, Texas, US. The...

There is now another seller for which we need to be wary--"prestigestamps" of SA, Australia. This seller has listed on eBay a group of the forged Chalons with forged REPRINT overprints. Another OS forgery on eBay from "kojo170694" of Wemeldinge, Netherlands. This time on a 1d electro. This forgery tries to replicate the smaller-size Commonwealth OS perfin that was never used on Tasmanian stamps. Tasmania only used the larger-size OS. This stamp is also dated April 1903, and the fir...

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
Forgery gang member "moonman143" of NSW, Australia is selling on eBay more forged SPECIMEN overprints on Sideface issues. Don't fall victim to the alleged double overprint on the 9d.
