Re: Fiscal removal

Thanks pete, I just find with the imperf and perf chalons it can be tough to see whether the thinning in the stamp that shows the watermark at times is due to the fiscal being removed or just the stamp itself. I was not sure whether fiscal marks and the agent to remove left some sort of residue that...

Mis-perforated 1d QV Sideface Query

Does anyone know of a 1870 1d sideface watermark 10 that is perf 12.25? I picked it up a few weeks ago and initially thought it was 11.8 but it is 12.25 and the misperf is 12 and is approx 8mm from side.

Any thoughts anyone?

Re: General Queries About REPRINT and SPECIMEN overprints

This is being advertised as a reprint. I thought that the reprints of the 1d and 4d couriers had the plates all defaced. Any thoughts, fake?

Re: 10/- George and Dragon (1889 printing)

Are fiscally used copies of this less valuable than one that has been cancelled?

I just notice a lot on ebay and interested in people's thoughts of what to look out for etc.
