According to Tinsley (Page 21) the Fourpence Chalon were issued to the Post Office by the Treasurer on the 17 August 1855. The earliest cover is 12 September 1855 (Page 23) At the Sato sale a cover cancelled 14 SP 14 1855 was sold with the comment: "Earliest cover recorded Sep 12 by Tinsley although...

Can anyone help me with this. Is it fiscal or postal cancellation. My best guess is James Jaikins August 1862?

Re: Tablet issues of 1892-1899 and new TAS watermark
I have in my exhibit the De la Rue copy of the original correspondence to the Crown Agent regarding a new dandy roll for the Tablet Issues and the new TAS watermark including a Watermark essay. Re: Die proofs for Tablets (1891-1899)
Bill, I agree with you that the first three references in Tinsley's book are for Twopence Halfpenny. 2.5d Die Proof 2.jpg Colour approval of the Twopence Halfpenny was made on the 1 December 1891 and the stamps were delivered on the 21 December 1891 and issued on the 12 February 1892. Key issue 2½d ...

It is a quite early usage of Sideface issue stamped at arrival in Melbourne and Carlton - Victoria on DC 20 / 70. Do anyone know earlier usage og the Sideface i...

Introducing Lars Peter Svendsen
I have been TPS member for less than a year and have collected the Victoria stamps of Tasmania for around 4 years. I also have a good presentation of Postal Stationeries, but my main focus is on the Victoria stamps. Ever since my childhood I have collected traditional philately, first specialised on...
