Re: Unusual marking on Victoria in oval
After looking around online it looks like it probably read Andrew Mather & Company.

Re: POST 1912 DATESTAMP INQUIRIES - ASK QUESTIONS HERE !!
Anybody know if the postmark of Highcroft, Tasmania, dated 1935, is rated somehow? Unfortunately the Tasmanian Postmark wiki is still incomplete.

Re: 1899 cancels on Pictorials
The one I have is from Launceston and is dated December 30, with an A code. I also have a Launceston postmark with no date at al, just blank in the middle.

Thank you. I've been finding a lot of blue cancels lately and not just from Tasmania.

Unusual marking on Victoria in oval

Re: 1899 cancels on Pictorials
Thank you. I've also noticed that a lot of dealers pay attention to the city, but not to the dates. That's how I picked up mine.

1899 cancels on Pictorials
How rare are 1899 cancels on pictorial stamps? I've got a Launceston Type 1c(i) that's dated December 30th 1899, but I haven't seen a lot of other pictorials dated in 1899.
