I have seen several picture postcards before used by an aspiring or sitting politician to canvass votes
in a forthcoming election but I have only seen two privately overprinted postal cards used for the same purpose.

Illustrated cards are quite scarce and this one from 1893 is not only attractive but most interesting.

Pity we missed the "Gaslight Display in the Evening"
