EPEHEMERA: TATTERSALL SYNDICATES - POST IMAGES/INFO HERE
I have just found this illustrated envelope with a printed map of Tasmania. I have seen
these before (used in the 1930s as well) but not the contents ......
An illustrated and addressed envelope to "Tasmania's Own Share Syndicates Hobart Tasmania"
plus a flyer enticing the recipient to have a flutter in a Tattersall Lottery as a member of the
aforementioned syndicate.
Does anyone have any information on this organisation ...how long did they operate, how did they
'turn a profit', etc.
Also .... I have seen "Lucky Fred's" envelopes from the same period ...were they a competitor, etc.??

Re: 1930s - TASMANIA'S OWN SHARE SYNDICATES - ENVELOPES & FLYER
Hi Ross. In my Tatts file is a Lucky Fred's brochure and book of tickets for the Melbourne Gold Cup 1944. Until your post yesterday I had always thought this was another sales gimmick by Tatts but obviously my thoughts were wrong.
I illustrate the brochure, back and front, plus the cover of the ticket book, remittance slip and application.

Re: 1930s - TASMANIA'S OWN SHARE SYNDICATES - ENVELOPES & FL
TPS BB member 'graham' has brought this flyer for "The Madam Zella Syndicates" to my attention
and has kindly enabled me to post an image of both sides.

That makes three 'Tattersall's Syndicates' now - "Tasmania's Own", "Lucky Fred's" and now the mysterious "Madam Zella"!
Were then any others? do you have anything to add ...images or information?

Re: 1930s - TASMANIA'S OWN SHARE SYNDICATES - ENVELOPES & FL
After posting the above images re "Madam Zella" I had a brief look for the name in The Mercury
from the 1930-50 period and found numerous advertisements of this nature dating from 1934/35 ...

It appears that Madam Zella (based in Sydney at the time of these advertisements) was an astrologer
and purveyor of lucky charms before she entered that Tatts Syndicate business ...interesting?

This newspaper listed Lucky Fred's as a winner, which proves that they actually bought Tatt's tickets:
