Hello,
I m a frenchman starting a collection of australian stamps. I ve recently bought some tasmanian stamps and i found the history of tasmanian stamps very interesting.
(by the way i m learning the history of tamania-Vandiemen's land)
I m using the SG Australia catalog but some Chalons private P are difficult to identify. I may post a topic about that.

Hi Timothy ...welcome to the Tasmanian Philatelic Society Online Discussion Forum.
You will find a developing wealth of knowledge about all aspects of Tasmanian Philately on this BB
and also at the main TPS website http://tps.org.au
In regard to finding out about the history of Van Diemens Land and Tasmania, there are quite a number
of useful links to information in this BB category http://tps.org.au/bb/viewforum.php?f=19
The Tasmanian Philatelic Society also publishes a research journal "The Courier" (named after Tasmania's first stamp
issue) twice yearly about which you can find information in the first link provided above.
We hope that your experience as a member of this forum will be enjoyable, rewarding and long-term. There are
already a considerable number of advanced collectors of Tasmanian who are registered users of this board and can assist
with any inquiries about Tasmanian philately, no matter how simple or complex.
