#1 Post by admin » Wed May 25, 2022 11:29 am

In November 2021, the TPS publish a major new work by Malcolm Groom and Allen Shatten - "Tasmanian Postal Stationery".
This book aims to present all that is currently known about Tasmanian postal stationery. It covers the period up to (and sometimes beyond) the transfer of powers to the Commonwealth in 1912. The authors have half a lifetime of experience between them of collecting, researching and exhibiting Tasmanian Postal Stationery. The Groom “Printed to Private Order” exhibit achieved Large Gold and Best-in-class at Sydney 2019 . Both authors have published articles on various aspects of Tas Postal Stationery over the years.

The book has now won an international gold medal at the FIP World exhibition in Lugano, Switzerland.
The Points breakdown (out of 100) were as follows:
Originality and Significance 34/40
Treatment and Research 37/40
Technical Matters 15/15
Presentation 5/5
Total 91/100

The price is $A150 with a $10 discount for TPS and PSSA members - contact me for details.
the book belongs in the library of any serious Tasmania collector and anyone with an interest in postal stationery.
