Yvert et Tellier catalogues

The Yvert et Tellier catalogue (in French) actually lists
the punctured official stamps for Australian Colonies.
I have checked this for several editions between 1920
and 1978. I recall Purves as saying something about
this in something he wrote but I can't recall where.

So this is relevant to collectors of Tasmania, especially
those who take an interest in the OS or T punctures.

Thus, the Tasmanian listing records and prices both
the OS and T punctures on Tasmanian stamps from
1903 (perf T) and 1905 (perf OS). We might suspect
that some of the French journals recorded the official
punctures as they came to the editor's attention. We
don't have access to old French journals at RPSV so
we can't take the subject any further for now.

One possible journal is "L'Echo de la Timbrologie", which
was published by Yvert et Tellier. (Think of that journal
as a French parallel to Gibbons Monthly Journal.)

The 1920 edition records the £1 Tablet as being out of
currency since 1901, due to stocks being overprinted
REVENUE for fiscal use. It is stated to be found with
overprint removed and forged cancellations applied.
