Pictorial Stamps punctured 'T' and'OS'.

#1 Post by Jeffharris » Sat Oct 15, 2011 2:01 pm

I am seeking some clarification re the listing of the pictorials with 'T' or 'OS' punctures. Keith Lancaster provided a list of the known stamps that were punctured, on pages 114 and 115 of his handbook. However, I am not sure how accurate this list is.

I have not been able to find a copy of the following stamps from his list that are punctured 'T' :-

1. Halfpenny Litho on V/Cr. wmk. perf.11
2. Twopence Litho on V/Cr. wmk. perf.11
3. Sixpence Litho on Cr./A wmk. perf. 11
4. Sixpence Electro on Cr./A wmk. perf. 12.4.

If any one has copies of these, I should be grateful if they could post an image or contact me.

Jeff -- I have a 2d Litho pair, V/Cr, Perf 11 with punctured T. I'll send you a scan when my scanner is operating. I did not find any of the others you're looking for. Jerry

Thank you Jerry. Also, I have recently acquired a used block of 12 of 2d. Lithos on Cr./A paper [with Riversdale cancels]. I am fairly confident that they are from Plate 26, whilst the position numbers are 3 to 6, 9 to 12 and 15 to 18. When my nephew finally comes down to St. Helens to show me how to post images, I shall display this block on the B.B. and hopefully, it may be of some use to you.

Jeff -- As promised. Scan of 2d litho, V/Cr, perf 11. This pair is from Plate 5, Positions 54 and 60. (The earliest 2d perf T's are Plates 3 and 4, dated 1 Nov 1902.) Jerry

Hi Jeff,

Here is a scan of the 1/2 V over Cr Perf 11 for you - I got excited for a minute and thought I'd found one of the 6d's, but wrong type.

Anyway, hope this helps....I have an absolute stack of T perfins from a research project so if you have anything else missing, please let me know.
Cheers... another Jerry
