Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
More forgeries on eBay from "niftystamps111" of NSW, Australia. It has been a while since we've seen the monogram forgeries, but these are also creations of the NSW forger. Monograms were never used on the recess-printed pictorials from London.

More forgeries on eBay from "niftystamps111" of NSW, Australia. The 1d Courier forgery is well known by now. Proofs of the unissued Commonwealth stamps are known in green and black, but the ones offered here do not appear to be printed correctly. And given the seller's track history of selling forgeries, I'm confident these are forgeries as well.

More forgeries on eBay. Two forgeries from "sunstamps-24" of QLD, Australia and another SPECIMEN forgery from "niftystamps111" of NSW, Australia. On the pictorials, the OS punctures are both forgeries and the monogram on the 2 1/2d is a forgery. I am unsure of the monogram on the 2d pictorial. I would actually need to examine the stamp. The monogram appears good, but I think it is adjacent to the wrong stamp (i.e., wrong plate position). If confirmed as the wrong plate position, the monogram is definitely a forgery. Regardless, the forged OS puncture dooms this creation.

More Chalon forgeries from Taiwan. The seller lists these as reproductions and at least some of them are marked as such on the back. Although not in favor of these creations, the seller had the integrity of selling his creations as reproductions rather than trying to pawn them off as genuine like the NSW forgers.

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
More forgeries on eBay from "niftystamps111" of NSW, Australia. The first two Chalons are cleaned fiscals with fake cancels applied. Both stamps have a washed-out appearance and portions of the pen markings can still be seen in the background. Both the 62 and 52 are the same fake cancels often seen on the forged 1d and 4d Couriers.
I can't say for certain that the REPRINT overprinted items are forgeries because I have not studied the genuine REPRINT stamps. However, the overprint appears to be on the forgeries made in Taiwan (see 6 Nov 2023 post). Someone with knowledge of the REPRINT stamps is welcome to comment.

An old-time forgery of the 1/ Chalon was posted on eBay from a U.S. seller. After being notified of the item's status, the seller promptly removed the item, but I have posted the image here for educational purposes.

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
A new eBay seller id for which we all need to be wary: "moomstamps-24" of QLD, Australia. The seller has posted on eBay one of the NSW forger's 4d creations (scan attached). I visited the seller's home page and noticed many forged items particularly forged OS punctures and overprinted material on other colony and Commonwealth stamps. I also saw a 1/ Chalon that was fiscally used with a fake cancel applied (scan attached) and the damaged 1d pictorial that was being offered as a plate flaw (see 5 June 2023 post). That item was offered by "seela-64" of QLD, Australia and I think that item and the 4d forgery is sufficient evidence to connect this new seller with the forgers if not one of the forgers themselves. All collectors should be careful buying anything from these sellers.

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
Another eBay seller for which we all need to be wary: "pebbelstamps" of SA, Australia. The seller is offering a number of forgeries on their eBay website. The seller got my attention when they offered a forgery of the 4d Courier which was the same forgery offered by "Iohel-0" of SA, Australia (scan attached and see TPS BB post of 30 July 2023). On the seller's website is the 1/2d SPECIMEN forgery offered on eBay by "Iohel-0" (see 29 October 2023 post) and the 1/ Chalon forgery offered as a proof by "Iohel-0" (see 19 August 2023 post). Also on the website is a number of genuine fiscally used cleaned stamps that are being offered as unused. Based on what I have seen it is possible that "pebbelstamps" and "Iohel-0" are the same seller, or at least associated with each other. This seller had what appeared to be a number of genuine items on their website, but I recommend that all collectors be careful buying anything from these sellers.

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
And yet another new seller selling the forged 4d Couriers in eBay: "masterxroshi" of Punchbowl, NSW, Australia. Seller has only 9 sales, so it is too early to say if the seller is reselling or associated with the forgers but note the seller id and be careful.
Also, "niftystamps111" of NSW, Australia has reposted the cleaned fiscals with fake cancels and added a damaged but what appears to be a postally used Chalon in an attempt to make the eBay lot more attractive to a buyer. (See the TPS BB post of 11 November 2023.) Time will time if this is a new selling technique on the part of the forgers and associates. UPDATED POST 27 Nov 2023: Seller updated scan to include the two forged REPRINT creations that were offered earlier (see also 11 November 2023 TPS BB post).

Another forgery from "niftystamps111" of NSW, Australia. The creation is not recess printed, has no watermark, and has the forged 62 cancel.

Another 1d Courier forgery on eBay from "bluewonder143" of NSW, Australia. This seller id is known to be associated with the NSW forger.
Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
Thanks for the heads-up, Jerry. It's unfortunate to see such forgeries circulating on eBay. Vigilance is key in these situations. Appreciate the warning about 'bluewonder143' from NSW, Australia.Jerry Weirich wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 10:29 pmAnother 1d Courier forgery on eBay from "bluewonder143" of NSW, Australia. The forged 2d Chalon that was offered on eBay by "niftystamps111" of NSW, Australia (see 3 December 2023 post for scan of forgery) has been reposted on eBay under the seller "bluewonder143" of NSW, Australia. More evidence of the linkage between the forger's seller id's.

Another monogram forgery on eBay. This time a JBC monogram from "bluewonder143" of NSW, Australia. A CA monogram forgery (see TPS BB post of 11 October 2023) was listed on eBay by "niftystamps111" of NSW, Australia. See 19 Jan, 6 Feb, and 20 Mar 2021 for additional examples of forged monograms.

Another 1d Courier forgery on eBay from "bluewonder143" of NSW, Australia. The seller describes it as having no faults, but the creation is one big fault!

Re: Forgeries and Facsimiles seen on Online Auction Sites, etc
There is another new seller id on eBay for which we need to wary: "stamp 31" of Melbourne, VIC, Australia. Only 7 sales on eBay at the moment, but I personally believe the seller is associated with the NSW forgers. The seller has listed on eBay a strip of three of their 1d Courier forgery.
