I have on extension a 4d Chalon Perf 12 1/2 Imperf between pair..... SG 85

On the face of it, it looks OK.....however, there appears to be some inconsistencies.

Firstly, the pair is in the Pale Blue shade. For the stamps Perf 12 1/2, they were only printed in Blue and Bright Blue. Secondly, the perfs don't appear to be consistent. The perfs at the top are uneven, and the perfs at the sides appear to make it a "small" pair.

Any comments would be helpful......

Cheers

Gary

Hi Gary
I know you sent this topic more than four years ago ...

I have this pair imperf also. With Fiscal cancellation.
Perf is something around 12 1/2 also. It looks also a small pair but plating Chalons shows that some gutter ( White space between design) are really narrow sometimes.
I have seen already different studies showing this "space" and varies between 0.4 and 2 mm.

For the colour, I am not a specialist, but yes this pair looks more bright blue, maybe.
Someone can confirm?

Gary, are you able to provide scan of the back?

Has some one seen another pair like that?
Thanks for reply

Hi

Looking at your pair, it appears to be genuine. I have recorded another in this shade Perf 12.5 and fiscally used......but it is very rare. The pair I posted on the web site was not mine.....but that was a forgery of an imperforate pair from the 1857 printings and reperforated....

Gary

Hi Gary,
many thanks for your reply.

It makes sense as perf on the top looks like really uncommon.
