There is also a fifth "proof" with a sideface portrait by Wilding inserted into a 5/- Tablet.

Ross

I have seen fantasy stamps based on Tas issues with QEII portraits on them. They have appeared on EBay from time to time and I think I may have bought one for fun. But as to where it is......

Just a bit of fun. As per the signature, produced by "Geo. W King" which I guess must be a pseudonym. The original GWK is the source of much correspondence to/from the Agent General for Tasmania in London.

thanks Patrick ... I hadn't seen the single 6d "stamps" before.

Since my original post above, I have found out that these fantasy items were produced by a Gerald King
who didn't just single out Tasmania for his artistic endeavours! :)
