EARLY USE of POSTAGE METERS in TASMANIA - Post Examples Here

#1 Post by Ross Ewington » Thu Aug 22, 2013 12:10 pm

From my experience, the use of postage meters in Tasmania is not a popular collecting area or field of research.

I have started this topic to see if we can 'document' some early usage and create a bit of interest ...say prior to WWII.

Here is a very early use of a postage meter in Tasmania - from 1929 and used at Devonport by
an unidentified company. The machine used was a Universal Postal Frankers' "Midget".

This is a very early use as postage meters were only introduced in Australia during 1927.

What do you have?
