Correction for last day of operation of the PRESTON post office - currently listed as being 30 OC 1981 however this date was a Saturday and the PO would have closed on a weekday
See 'last day cover' below postmarked on Friday 30 OC 1981 which would have been the actual date of closure

New late use date for the Hobart Type 3(x)(xii) which was the old Parcels cds with the "P" removed. Late use date was 6.1.1928 and shown on the 3d violet KGV this date can now be advanced to 21.6.1928.
I have shown two images so that you can see the phantom "P" emerging despite removal. Similar to the old Scottsdale west cds where late use cds see the "West" trying to reappear.

LYETTA - Type 2b
Note a 'quad' has been used as second number in year for reasons unknown. This example was from John Avery's collection
so it's surprising that the dateline variation hasn't been recorded previously

Devonport West cds R2a(x)(ii)
This rubber cds with the "West" removed has a late use date of 28.12.1933 in Hardinge's Compendium.
However in the image shown it has been used to cancel a 3d Centenary of the Settlement of Victoria which was issued 2.7.1934.
Date of the cds is 31.10.1934 so this pushes it out a further ten months. JH has been advised and he has confirmed the find and noted his records.

A new late date for the LAUNCESTON Type 4 cds - 26SE56 - this is about 11 months later than the published LRD
If you have some FDCs cancelled at Launceston, it may be worthwhile to check out any Type 4 dates as some later dates may turn up!
