I have recently been sent scans of a 1916 cover (scruffy) that features a clear strike of Talawa on the cover.
I have found the information on the office in both Avery & Hardinge Part 2 and the revised and updated "Post Offices of Tasmania" by John Hardinge, but wondered whether members could add any more.
I have posted scans of both sides of the cover above.
Nice to be back!

Patrick, this is the current information, extracted from a forthcoming Publication on Tasmanian Datestamps by John Hardinge. ( see here for details
https://tasstampbooks.com/ )
Talawa Type R1 ( rubber). Cds ordered 21 Dec 1914. Violet 1915-18. Blue 1918. Violet 1919-20. Is known as indelible pencil manuscript 28 Dec 1919, probably due to problems with worn rubber cds
Manufacturer not definitely known but may be Jacksons, Launceston.
One of a batch of 8 issued in the absence of a contract with a steel datestamp manufacturer.
Pete

Ripper cover. The Avery collection had one, I have one, this is the third on cover.

I understand that the Talawa cover that I recently posted online will be offered for sale by Spink in the (not too distant) future.
