I have just discovered this much travelled cover in a box of "ho hum" KGV material.



Two questions I'd like some assistance with

1) have I assumed correctly that the indecipherable letters are indeed "L.C" thus making up
"L.C.R." standing for "Letter Carrier Room"?

2) Does anyone have any examples of the same (or related) datestamps that they could post
the images thereof in this topic?

This could be the start of an article on re-directed mail in The Courier. Any co-authors?

Almost certainly L.C.R = Letter Carriers Room.

Yes, I think LCR=Letter Carrier Room. This is a new one for me. Never seen it before.

Here is another example from an OHMS cover with a Hobart postmark of 13 Jul 1926.
The full date in the handstamp is unclear although the year is clearly 26.
