This card arrived in the post today.
Has anyone heard of the "Kamera Card" by Arght Industries Pty Ltd and distributed by R.C.G.Henderson & Son Melbourne. ? A quick google search did not reveal anything.
The quality of this colour real photo card is excellent and is printed on a matt type card. The card is written in dutch ? I think. It is dated 27 Feb but no year.
My guess the photograph was taken about 1955. Can you date the picture more accurately. There are no TV aerials on Mt Wellington. All the boats seem to be yachts with rows of people looking at them. Could this be the end of a Sydney Hobart yacht race?

Re: THE KAMERA CARD
Hello,
The writing on this card is Dutch. The cars on the wharf appear to be post WWII - about 1948.
Jeff.

Re: THE KAMERA CARD
I agree with Jeff that the photo more likely than not taken in the late 1940s (not an FX or FJ Holden
in sight !!) whereas the message appears to have been written in ballpoint ink suggesting a mid to late
1950s use).
The possibility of the scene being of some yachts which had completed an early Sydney-Hobart Race is strong
as the first race was held during the 1945/46 summer. An excellent article about the history of the race
may be found via this link: http://www.cyca.com.au/sysfile/download ... n_Luke.pdf
There is also a possibility that this photograph may be of yachts which have sailed at the annual Hobart Regatta.
After a considerable time searching for "Kamera Card", "Arght Industries", etc., I have not been able to find
a single reference anywhere on the internet.
