Photo postcard by JW Beattie . Card has a "P" in RH top corner. Maybe Lodge gathering men are wearing medals ? Assistance with identification would be appreciated.

The only clue to this card is "Smithton area McKinlays" pencilled on reverse. Help needed !!

This real photo card by Spurling features a street march by school children down Brisbane Street, Launceston (between Charles and St John Street)

It was postally used on June 27th 1906

Does anyone know the reason for the parade ...was it a regular event on say recently established "Empire Day" (from 1905). The shops appear to be closed
so it can be assumed that the parade may have been on a public holiday or on a Sunday.

Your thoughts are welcomed.
