Real Photo Card - West Coast Mining - Is There A Series?

#1 Post by Ross Ewington » Mon Feb 15, 2010 4:59 pm

The real photo card below titled "The Haulage, Mt Lyell" is by an unidentified photographer/publisher.

As the card is numbered "20" one can assume that there are are other cards in the same series. If any
forum members have other cards apparently from the same series, can you please post them here?

Also welcome would be any suggestions at to whom the photographer was and when exactly the cards were produced.

The card most likely dates from the WWI period or slightly later as the design of the printed "Kodak Austral" postcard
back is of a type that I haven't seen used until c.1915.

For "work in progress" on dating the various Kodak Australia printed backs, please go to this topic.

Could the Mt Lyell Haulage card be by H.H. Baily (of Hobart) ??
Compare the text on card above with this "identified" Baily card found in the topic re post office photos!

Has anyone seen any views of the West Coast by Baily?
