J.W. Beattie - Images of "Better" RP Cards, etc

The "R.C. Harvey, Photographer" topic has proven popular so I thought that it would be
useful to start a similar thread on the most famous of all southern real photo card producers,
John Watt Beattie.
The card above "Log Train - Geeveston Forest" is unused and probably dates from the
1905 /10 period. It is possible that this card has been reduced a fraction at top and bottom but
I have other Beattie cards with these dimensions. (135 x 84mm)
Tasmanian cards featuring views including a steam locomotive I have found to be surprisingly scarce.

Not sure if this is parade is pre or post WW1. Can someone identify what Hobart street this is?

re parade photo (nice one!), it can only be Elizabeth Street or Liverpool Street due to double tram lines and
density of the shops. Mike, if you can send me the largest scan that you can make I may be able to indentify
the location by the shop names (have just tried "Cottrell Drapers" but without success).
Judging by the clothing worn y the crowd, my "best guess" would be sometime fairly early during WWI, say 1915
but it could be just prior to that (some of the women are wearing Edwardian Period hats which were well out
of fashion by the end of WWI.

Despite the condition of this card, it is certainly worthy of being noted in this topic

The message on the back dated "May 18th 1914" reads:
"The largest electric turntable in the Commonwealth now being erected by J.S. Hudson & Staff at
Hobart for the Tas. Govt. Railways. The above table will carry a load of 250 tons and serve 44 roads"

1911 - a rather fine view by Beattie of the Hobart Marine Board's yacht "
Egeria", possible hosting a Vice-Regal party at the Hobart Regatta.
