FUNDRAISER POSTCARDS - A Survey
Posted: Tue Feb 16, 2010 10:17 am
This card inscribed on the message side with "Sandy Bay Methodist Church - Mile of Pennies' Scheme" was used
c.1910 (1d Pictorial franking but unfortunately, the postmark is too light to read the date of posting).
Does anyone know what the "Mile of Pennies' Scheme" was? For the Methodist School? A new building? Charitable works?
Are there any other cards produced by the Sandy Bay Methodist Church?
There are other "fundraiser" cards of Tasmanian origin ... here's a fairly common card (used in 1904) that I believe was sold to raise money
for the "Victoria Clock" to beinstalled in the GPO clock tower.

If you have any other cards in your collection (or information), please post in this topic.
