I believe that cards from an extensive series to which this example belongs
date from 1912/13 and have assumed that they were published by Spurling though there
is no identification as such on the back of the card.

First question: were these cards published by Spurling as I have assumed?
Second question: do they in fact 'date' from the 1912/13 period?
Now to the 'stamp box'

In the stamp box is a printer's 'index' or 'job' number and a monogram with uppercase letters DHC
and what appears to me to be a lower case r.
Question three: any ideas as to what the letters signify or stand for?

Re: Monogram in Stamp Box .... Any Ideas ??
While I can not answer any of the 3 questions posed above I can add another postcard from the same printer showing Latrobe. The numbers on the reverse read 155/81437 (does this imply at least 14 postcards in ther series?). When I get my scanner working I will post an image.
