This unused real photo postcard shows 12 views of Tasmania's East Coast. These photographs won first prize in the Tasmanian Arts and Craft Society's competition.
Can anyone identify the prize winning photographer and perhaps the year? I would guess c1912!

Interesting card Mike. I have had a look at some newspaper published results re the Tasmanian Arts & Crafts Society exhibitions and while there was a section for Photography - Postcards c.1912, the subjects of the winning entries are not mentioned. Would you be able to post an image of the top of the back of the card please as I may be able to use it in order to 'firm up' the date?

Ross, not sure if this scan of the back of the card will help you?

Thanks Mike - you're right ....if only it had a "Kodak Austral" or an "Empire" back. I have a hunch though that
this photographic postcard stock was in use before 1910 so the search for newspaper reports may have to be broadened a little.

That is the question we would like to answer. Can you be more specific please Alex? - do you mean the photographer
or the postcard stock? The East Coast origin of the card is fairly straight forward to determine as this site is devoted to
Tasmania only so it wouldn't be from somewhere else's "East Coast"
