Re: Census of RRR and RRRR circular date stamps on Tas Picto
After seeing Patrick's rather nice Type 1b Glazier's Bay above, I have been somewhat reluctant
to post this example from DE 7 00 but a census is a census!

LADY' BAY · AP 2 13 · TASMANIA - rated RRRR to end of 1912. As a strike on an Australian stamp pre-dating this example
has not been reported, I think it is worth recording in the census. Interesting to note too that a little of the apostrophe
appears to have "re-emerged".

Gosh ...it's about 9 months since something "new" has been added to this topic. I don't
think this partial RIDGEWAY has been recorded before although it looks familiar to me.

Re: Census of RRR and RRRR circular date stamps on Tas Picto
Ross, thank you and other for recent up-dates. It seems Long Island may be slipping back to a lesser rating if the number of examples continues in this way.
I will be progressing the up-dating of the on-line census over the next few months (which is in the TPS members website)and hope to have a complete listing of examples know via this forum and other contributions.
The numbers of examples plus prices where known will make interesting reading.
Please keep adding any new examples !
Pete

Ross
Would be nice if the two 3d cancels of Mills Reef were a pair, would have been a stunning cancel. As per usual I think I find something a bit different only to have another turn up shortly after.Thats the fun of the hunt I suppose.Cheers

WARRENTINNA · -- -- 02 · TASMANIA - rated RRRR - very light but quite discernible
...has this been recorded before? There are so very few examples of this 'blue chip' postmark known
so it would be interesting to know if it's a 'new discovery'!

Re: Census of RRR and RRRR circular date stamps on Tas Picto
Ross, definitely not recorded in my census. In fact, Warrentinna is shaping up to be one of the rarest of the rare.
I'll download the image for use in my on-line census.

LONG ISLAND · NO 18 01 · TASMANIA
N.B. this particular cancel had already been reported however it was still on an envelope clipping at that time!
