A Buying List from the Past - The "Good" old days

While sorting through the Forrest collection of Tasmanian circular date stamps I found this Buying list from a London collector who was offering "attractive " prices for Tasmania postmarks. I am guessing the list was prepared in the mid 1960's. Anyone like to sell their Teepookana for 60/-?

Maybe E.H. Smith of 6 Addison Way London NWL1 is still in the market?

Prices are going down!

This group just sold [to yours truly] on eBay for $20.00. Some 25 years on from Penders pricing of $75.00 for Hillend

Hillend is really only RR, or a scarce R. We have 30 + copies recorded in the TPS Pictorial CDS census and I've more or less stopped recording them . It would be fairly easy to find 50 +. Its strange because the office was open for such a short time. Someone must have had a major horde. At some stage it would be a good idea to revise the Lancaster ratings list.
The Harford on a 6d is a nice item and I reckon worth the $20 on its own.

Ah this is why the price is coming down, but all is not lost then Pete! I just put some low bids in and got the dregs, so i now have a nice Harford to slip into my General Tasmania shame it never had a nice pen cancel on it!

Dave,
you still did very well. The Hillend is nevertheless worth something although not a true RRR. Ross would be the best person to put a figure on it. There are definitely bargains on eBay at times.

Pete i have the 2008 pdf listing direct from Ross [which i use a a guide] which shows Hillend as R3 so have all the 40 odd you now record come to light over the last couple of years? Dave
