This imperf gummed & watermarked TAS key plate set turned up recently.
This is the first imperf I have seen other than the Queens collection, do you have any in your collection? If so please post them here.
Maybe you know the background to them?
Any info which may add another piece of the puzzle to this would be appreciated.

Re: Platypus Series
The only mention of this I can find in all published works is “Specimen Stamps of the Crown Colonies” 1857-1948 by Marcus Samuel. Marcus makes mention of “a document submitted by De La Rue & Co. to the Egyptian postal authorities on 2nd May 1878, attached was a copy of the postal fiscal Platypus 3d chestnut, overprinted ‘CANCELLED’ Type D6 [17½ x 1½mm], as a specimen of their work”. I am hoping this is just that specimen listed.
Can you help by add anything to this story?

Re: Platypus Series
More imperf Platypus have turned up at Prestige auctions, there may now be sheets of them in the market place.
