Des Beechey

#1 Post by Des_Beechey » Fri Apr 20, 2012 10:46 am

I am an ex-Tasmanian living in Sydney. I left Tasmania after school (Hobart Technical High School) and University of Tasmania in 1968. Since retiring from the position of Registrar at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney I have visited Tasmania frequently to stay in touch with family. Through reading some of the local history of Tasmania, some postcards have attracted my attention, and maybe I will make a collection.

Hi Des ...welcome to the TPS online discussion forum. As you will have probably noticed, the Tasmanian postcards forum is one of the most active categories on the entire site. If you have any general (or specific) questions about collecting Tassie postcards (or anything about the cards themselves) no matter how basic you may think your query may be, please do not hesitate to make a post. We will try to assist you anyway we can.

best regards - Ross Ewington - TPS BB moderator

P.S. you can view a lot of Tasmanian postcards online at the Tasmanian Archive and Heritage Office website at http://www.linc.tas.gov.au/tasmaniasher ... /pictorial
