Just to be slightly different, a new LRD for the 5/CTMS/T tax handstamp: 5th August 1907, about 7 weeks before the rules changed and made it obsolete.

Re: RECORD YOUR NEW EARLY and LATE DATES, etc HERE
Here's an "etc."
ADVENTURE BAY - Type 4a - 3 examples from 1954 with the '4' in '54' inverted - there is no mention of this dateline variation in the
current version of "The List". Examples are dated April 26th, Sept 20th and Oct ?5th so this variation was more likely than not 'constant' for 5 months
(at least).

Re: RECORD YOUR NEW EARLY and LATE DATES, etc. HERE
Here's an "etc." I have been meaning to record for some time
OATLANDS - TYPE 8T (postcode 7205) - rated RRR
The first digit in the 'year' is inverted!
Has anyone seen an example with the '8' the right way up?

PYENGANA · 27MY37 · TAS-AUST - new early date
Previous ERD was 27SE37 so this discovery (sold on eBay) certainly 'tightens' up the
changeover period from Type 1 to Type 5

This postmark looks more like a Type 5[m]. The month is smaller than the day and the year.

Re: RECORD YOUR NEW EARLY & LATE DATES, etc. HERE
thanks Jeff ... you may be right ...we could have a new ERD for the Type 5(m) instead.
I assumed that because the impression of the month was so poor it is the Type 5
'on it's way out' but yes, I can see now that the 'Y' is smaller than the digits alongside.
We'll wait and see what JH thinks.

Re: RECORD YOUR NEW EARLY & LATE DATES, etc. HERE
Someone must have 'a fiddle' with both Type 8T cds at BAGDAD during 1985
The 8aT(i) cds has '11NP' as the mail closing time in the date line and the the Type 8aT(ii) has '9MA' !!
I can't recall these dateline variations having been recorded before.

The letter rate in June 1985 was 33c. Here we have a 1c. stamp and 10c. stamp with strange looking cancels!!
